November 19, 2020 - A private dinner with friends (Waver, Ouder-Amstel, NL): This is a joint tasting note for Dr. Loosen Wehlener Sonnenuhr Auslese 2005 (AP 43 06), Ürziger Würzgarten Auslese 2005 (AP 34 06) and Ürziger Würzgarten Auslese GK 2005 (AP 21 06). Impressions were very similar to the previous tasting in April 2020. The Sonnenuhr took the prize for elegance, but the Goldkapsel was the best match with the tarte tatin.

April 12, 2020 - This is a joint tasting note for Dr. Loosen Wehlener Sonnenuhr Auslese 2005 (AP 43 06), Ürziger Würzgarten Auslese 2005 (AP 34 06) and Ürziger Würzgarten Auslese GK 2005 (AP 21 06). The Sonnenuhr is elegant and harmonious, effortlessly flowing, all peach and flowers and slate, delicately sweet, with great finesse. (93). The Würzgarten is deeper and spicier than the Sonnenuhr, more evolved, with quite pronounced bitters and a slightly blunt finish. (91). The Goldkapsel weight seems to suit the Würzgarten better, when delightful maracuja and peach richness builds upon the terroir. (92).

April 28, 2018 - So ten years after my first note... still kind of sweet and simple. Don’t get me wrong, a quite nice drink but still seems a bit lacking in the aromatics category.

April 9, 2018 - Half bottle. Some petrol. A pure beacon of yellow apple fruit. Light, spicy, only moderate sweetness. OK, maybe the acidity is a wee bit short, but who cares? Delicious dessert wine.

February 4, 2017 - Round and relatively opulent, it took a good 20 minutes before any level of minerality presented itself. I prefer more brightness but this is lovely.
