January 26, 2023 - B120; G20; 4.5*+9+4.5*+9+9.5+5+5=97; Side by side with '15 Domaine Drouhin Laurène. Much lighter in color with full red berry character. Some cinnamon. Initial light notes of funk that recede over an hour+ and what remains is just lovely. This takes 2-4 hours to open in bottle and glass (Riedel Burgundy). Perhaps a light decant would hasten its arrival, but really, this is one for patience in the cellar and during the drinking to fully experience how great it is. The finish alone is worth experiencing at least once in your wine drinking life. Once again this vineyard proves why it is one of the best in the U.S. If you are lucky enough to own this do not eff it up by improper storage or by impatience during the drinking. This is incredible and will likely cellar for 20+ additional years.

February 27, 2021 - Opened and decanted 30-min ahead of grill chicken fajitas. Light crimson-red with a ruby hue. The floral nose brings violets, tulips, lavender, cherry blossoms, grape hard candy, herbal tea, and blueberry pie. The palate is medium-full, square, tangy, and rich, bringing high-toned orange peel, pomegranate, and Bing cherries mixed with blackberry, rhubarb, black tea, cloves, bitters, cola, and campfire smoke. The finish is tannic, a little hot, and still disjointed, so this should be best 2023-2028. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 90.

February 7, 2021 - Another too young wine. Also, a bit too large for my tastes at this point. Good fruit, nice flavors, good long term stuffing, just a bit heavy for what I prefer from Dundee.

September 5, 2020 - This is a really nice example of the Original Vines. Ripe and open with beautiful red fruits, spices, floral notes, and a little bit of earth. The palate has great concentration and depth; reminiscent of a very good Vosne 1er cru at this point. Really excellent.

March 22, 2020 - Decanted roughly 1 hour and consumed over another 2 hours. Medium garnet color. Deep, moderately intense nose of beets, flowers, Asian spices, and some tar. Very balanced on the palate with a richness and completeness that must come from it's old vine source. Ultimately, though, it lacks the complexity of many wines I've had from this vintage and the finish is short. It also favors ripeness over depth, to my palate.

March 1, 2020 - Wonderful smooth mouthfeel. Not particularly high acidity. Modest but full dark fruit flavors balanced by some earth. I would definitely buy again.

October 1, 2018 - Fine Vines Fall 2018 Portfolio Tasting (City Winery - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. Good+ concentration with still charmingly elegant. Good length with sneaky good structure. Certainly upside from here.
