September 25, 2020 - MEA CULPA. So I bought a lot of B and developed a very negative view of it because no matter how long I waited (<10 yrs) it always seemed mute and disappointing compared to others (eg Pegau) . So I just left them. Then in Covid I started opening them; now 15 yrs in and guess what? They are really very good. I guess I was just not waiting long enough.

September 20, 2020 - Noble wine with complete package; early in the drinking window. Nose: spices, tobacco. Flavors: blackberry, black cherry, spices, hint of licorice. Structure: well pronounced, but integrated.

September 18, 2020 - YES. Never thought I would say this but this is really good. Ch B clearly takes 15 yrs to get to anywhere good!

September 12, 2020 - Dinner hosted by Ashley and Bill...playing the part of somm for the evening, wine from my cellar (Chez Schofiled - Princeton, NJ): From a 3L, purchased at auction ~2012. Decanted and rebottled 3 hours prior. Served with main course of garlic spiced Cornish hens, couscous and greek potatoes.

Medium ruby/purple color, slightly cloudy. Nose showing red fruits, blackberry, truffles, spice, damp earth, licorice. Elegant palate of dark cherry, blackcurrant, baking spice/cinnamon, tar, rose petal. Spice persists through the mid palate. Medium body, medium/long finish.

This was brilliant on this evening. Guessing the 3L has this drinking at a younger stage. A taste when opened, it was very good. the air time really allows it to open, secondary flavors evolved over the evening. Went great with a nicely spiced entree...star of the show for me.
