July 8, 2019 - The wine is purple. The nude is dominated by blueberries, red cherries, tobacco and lavender. The nose and palate are a touch jammy. The tannins are moderate, acidity is moderate to moderate minus and the alcohol is moderate (for a cab). 5+12+16+8=91

March 16, 2019 - Really good for $60 cad. Taste like a $150 Napa cab. Gave this 9 hour decant in cellar.

Big chocolate on palate. Decent fruit and acidity. Smooth finish that if being critical could use tonlast a tad longer.

All in all good Tuesday night drinker or cellar protector when you have people over that are not wine geeks.

March 15, 2019 - Nice dark inky red Cab. Earthy aroma with scents of anise, pepper, and blackberry. Bold tannins that dance over your tongue. Dark fruits, hints of vanilla and earthy tones. The finish speaks of toast and blackberry jam. Very nice.

February 3, 2019 - Decanted 21 hours to show it’s true meaning. A itergrated multifaceted wine that requires time and understanding what a Mount Veeder wine has to offer-complex and wonderful that requires cerebral contemplation along with physical elements to enjoy fully. Hold for three to four years in cellar for other bottles.

February 1, 2019 - On paper, this looks like a screaming bargain: 97 points from Decanter, impressive heritage, and just $30 a bottle or so. Alas, while this wine is good, it's nothing special. IMHO, it's nowhere near the 97 points Decanter gave it. Less body, less flavor, and less complexity than I anticipated. Reminds me of another cabernet sauvignon -- Louis Martini 2014 Alexander Valley -- which got 97 points from Wine Advocate and, on paper, also looked like a great buy -- but fell far short of expectations. I give the Scattered Peaks 2015 cab 90 points. For $30, it's reasonably priced at best. Reminds me to beware of wines that get unusually high scores from just one rater. Caveat Emptor.
