January 21, 2022 - Fabulous Howell mountain cab! Dark berry compote with raisin, vanilla and pipe tobacco framed in very elegant, subtle oak. Wonderful! Tannins are relaxed and velvety. I'm not sure it could get better from here. It'll be tough to let this one go to 10 years post vintage.

September 16, 2020 - Black and blue mountain fruit in copious quantity. Blueberry fills the nose while blackberry takes over on the palate. Tannins are smooth. A bit of baking spice on the end of it. But don't wait to drink this. I don't see much room for improvement. It's luscious, full bodied and silky smooth now.

December 8, 2017 - Wine Old-Timers Lunch (Catelli's Geyserville): Very young and a bit sweet vanilla oak for me at this point, a very big wine that has tons of potential but really needs more time to show its best. My score was based upon today not tomorrow. Ed brought the bottle not sure this is released yet.
