February 17, 2024 - PnP. Blackberry, raspberry, slight menthol, and black pepper. Tons of pepper on the palate, with some spice and mineral notes on a long finish. Tannins are ripe and well integrated. After open for an hour or so, getting some smoke and slight bacon fat on the nose.
About USD 33, purchased from a shop in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Taxes on wine/alcohol here are very high to reduce local consumption and raise government revenue. Wine selection is quite limited, and handling often dubious. This bottle however, does not disappoint. A worthwhile purchase in this country context. -

Consistent with previous notes. Needs some air but so good. One of the world’s great wine buys. Should be on the wine list of every French bistro in town. -

January 22, 2023 - I enjoyed this when I had it back in 2020. Now, the wine was flat, with very little fruit left. It was acidic and abrasive. It was no better on day 3, it ended up down the sink. Too old? Bad bottle?
