Community Tasting Notes 4

October 17, 2022 - Deep dark garnet in color with ever-so-slight clearing at the edges. Forward, attractive & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of strawberries, red cherries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & herb notes, spices, cocoa, minerals & a hint of cedar in the background. Medium bodied with a good concentration of balanced & silky smooth textured, ripe red fruit flavors of cherries, strawberries & mulberries with spices, herbs, cocoa & a touch of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Quite accessible at present with decanting & airing but may have some limited potential for further aging.

December 11, 2019 - Needed time to open. Second day provided more balance.

April 30, 2019 - Slow O'd 4 hours. There is vanilla oak, plush fruit, bell pepper and slight chocolate. I can drink this.

January 9, 2019 - A wine that rewards patience. Picked up on sale at PLCB. PNP made me check label to make sure it was really a Cab. On opening tasted bright red fruit and high acidity like a young Chianti. Needed about 4 hours to open up and then then Cab elements finally showed - plum and boysenberry flavors with a hint of tobacco and graphite. Medium weight and long finish. Nice wine at this price - if you are patient.
