April 1, 2009 - Deep, golden straw color. Nose & palate of honeycomb, butterscotch, caramel, baking spice, almonds, pears, white peaches, green apple, pencil shavings & oak. Luscious oily mouthfeel, with ample, yet well balanced acidity. Showing a little too much woodiness for me, but still a very good wine.

August 20, 2008 - Great blend for the money. Mourvedre, Grenach and Syrah. Deep ruby color with lots of black and blue fruit. Well balanced and in the old world style. Highly recommended.

May 17, 2008 - Initially didn't like this and noticed same "stale peanut brittle" mentioned by Tarheel17. This was right after opening, and wine was chilled. After warming up and getting air, it turned much more complex. Caramel, butterscotch, nuts, peaches, smoked meat, popcorn, slate and a bit of lemon. Full, rich texture with a long finish. This was more like a red wine. Hefty. Best drunk nearer to room temperature.

April 24, 2008 - pop and pour within 3 days of delivery.
nose: stale peanut brittle. I am not making that up. It's unbelievable!
palate: at room temperature, the alcohol is a tad too prevalent. Nice peanut flavor though, along with some green stems and sweet lemons. Very interesting. Will put in fridge and reevaluate in a bit.
Day 2: chilled.
Tonight it certainly has remnants of peanuts on the nose, but they are somewhat smothered by a sensation of dusty peach fuzz. If that makes any sense. There is still some greenness, and perhaps just a hint of my father's woodshop. This wine is simply very much not regular-old-fruity but rather filled with other smells. Very different wine - the average joe might not appreciate its subtleties, but for someone looking for something different, this fits the bill. Would pair excellently with mushroom butter sauce on pasta. -
