February 17, 2024 - Purchased on clearance from local liquor store. All things considered a good value. Took a few hours to open up. The nose had berries and hint of vanilla. Cherries came through mid palette. The oak was light on the pallet. Long smooth finish.
April 5, 2021 - Consumed over two days and this is quite good; I have the tendency of hoarding my N&N as I’ve found they typically deserve [demand] some cellar time. This is lovely and likely starting its prime drinking window, a nice example of the grape, it offers of dark cherry, fine tannins, soft and elegant. Easily drinking now with a short decant. 93
October 13, 2020 - Full bodied nose of ripe fruit. Smooth and silky mouthfeel. Notes of plum and cherry. Drinking very well.
July 17, 2020 - Sourced from vines averaging 22 years in age and comprised of 100% Merlot, this elegant wine saw 16 months in French oak (48% new, 52% once-used) during its vinification. Opaque ruby, intensely aromatic and defining sleekness, it delivers a package of Bing cherries, cassis, baking spices, cedar and savory herbs. Full-bodied, low in acidity, seamlessly alcoholic (14.2%) and judiciously oaked, it has excellent mid-palate density and closes with a lengthy, smooth finish. A tremendous example of what this grape can achieve in the Napa Valley, this is a red that will have broad appeal. It should be at its best over the next 6-7 years. Drink now-2027.
December 21, 2018 - On a bit of a recent Nickel & Nickel kick. Not quite at the level of the Nickel cabs, but darn close when drinking this young...and at 1/2 the price. Violets and vanillin on he nose, cherry, blackberry on the palate. Nicely harmonized with a 30 minute decant. Drinking better than the ‘14 now.
November 20, 2018 - Very nice. We enjoyed this very much with dinner @ Bottega in Yountville. Excellent on nose, smooth and integrated for being so young, and great finish. Enjoy!
June 7, 2018 - Enjoyed very much! Great for the price!!!
