September 22, 2018 - First the oak is a little dominant. Might also have to do with the difficult vintage that produced lighter, less deep wines. Notes of smoke, vanilla, some toast, also some red berries, some leather and spices. It‘s medium-bodied, but has a touch of alcoholic warmth, with medium-high acidity and medium+ tannin. Good length. It all feels a little unbalanced at the moment, oak pretty prominent, tannin seems not overly high but a touch unripe and the alcohol a little too present for the body of the wine. I have no experience with this wine and it‘s super young but I wouldn‘t bet my money on it. Not a bad wine by any means but for roughly $45 I expected a little more...
