May 1, 2022 - Expressive nose of citrus, green apples, chalk. Pure and expressive on the palate as well, elegant, medium-bodied. Pronounced citrus and stone marks, no hints of oak. Tastes like Chablis with a bit more weight. Great wine, more to come but delicious now.

December 5, 2020 - What. The. F? This was double blind, and I think this was an off bottle. Volatile acid, strange herbal nose and sweetness on the finish - this is Carillon? I had this ranked last and most people were convinced this wasn't Burgundy - guesses ranged from northern Italian (?) to Alsatian (???). I did call in Burgundy, but I'm chalking this up to an off bottle.

June 26, 2020 - 2001 (and circa) Burgundy (Jason's Roof): One of mine, so not blind to me. This is a slightly bigger wine than usual for Carillon's Referts, and has a touch of bitterness on the finish. However, the palate is as linear and direct as you'd expect and there's no reduction or oak here - when the heaviness comes through, it's from the weight of the wine, not the winemaking. Most guesses were for Chassagne, which in some ways show that even in a tough vintage like 16, Carillon holds up. I think this needs more time unlike the 15s, though it's unlikely to ever be a great wine like the 14s or 17s.

October 20, 2019 - Beautiful nose, and solid on the palate. The kind of wine that’s not the ”best” wine, but the wine you want to be drinking at today’s lunch.

July 12, 2019 - A lovely nose of smoky mineral reduction, pure white peach and aniseed spice. It is full in the mouth with good density and definition. It possesses a line of grapefruit acidity and finishes with a flinty feel. Length is very good.
