August 18, 2023 - Perhaps one of my best bottles. Needed one hour to open. What a great bottle. A fantastic blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Franc. Smooth, balanced, a touch of pepper / spice. This bottle was great.

June 10, 2023 - This was a pop and pour after returning from dinner. Definitely could have used a decant. Dark cherry and red/black fruit on the nose and palate. Deft touch of oak and well balanced, with a lingering finish. Absolutely no hurry here. 94+

June 10, 2023 - Popped and poured courtesy of tlv. Dark color, inky and dense. Cherry cordial, kirsch, mocha, chocolate and herbal elements in the bouquet, adding a pretty floral element after thirty minutes in the glass. Full-bodied with finely knit tannins and flavors of black currant, cassis, vanilla and chocolate. Balanced, with a lingering finish. Drinking very well despite its youth. 94+ pts with plenty of upside potential.

April 14, 2023 - First bottle after waiting patiently on this vintage. Beautifully balanced wine that is in a great spot right now. The group consensus was extremely positive with a fight for the last drop of this bottle. Extremely biased toward the work at Outpost and the Immigrant bottling but it’s difficult to find much better bottles than this.

September 27, 2022 - My first 15 Immigrant to be pulled from the cellar stash. Of the recent vertical of 13-15 this one was my favorite. Still classic Outpost build, the 15 seems to be the most balanced and integrated. Plush fruit with oak on the nose, gobs of blue fruit hedonism. Not my style of wine anymore but I'll hold onto these when the right palates are in attendance. This would have been one of my favorites not long ago.

June 24, 2022 - This was a splurge PnP on a whim. We gave it maybe 15 minutes of air before pouring at cellar temp.

Holy Moly... 3 years since last tasting and this has come a long way. Fabulous before and completely TRB in profile. Everything is better now, but still with a long life ahead.

Beautiful fruit on the nose and typical Outpost color; kinda dark. First sip reveals a Napa red wine that is in mid transition to something really special. It's still rich and fruit forward. But for such a thick wine on the sip, it dances across the palate and then dissipates quickly into a finish that is really starting to show a wonderful minerality.

Last sip of the glass an hour plus later goes down very lightly.

Of the Outpost bottlings I really seem to enjoy the Immigrant most. It's right bank sensibility coupled with its unavoidable Napa Howell Mountain identity really plays well. The Integration is well along the curve, but still has a way to go.

Man I wish I had 3 or 4 more of these to follow for another 10 years. But this is our last bottle and probably (unfortunately) the end of the line.

    Day 2 update to follow.

Day 2... This filled out nicely, eventually approximating something close to what I'm used to with.the TV Cabernet. But in doing so it lost the mid palate lift that popped my eyebrows last night. Lots of life ahead of this wine still.

September 10, 2020 - Does need some time to open. Unctuous texture. Sharp currant, blackberry, smoke. Decent finish. Enjoy.

August 8, 2020 - Another winner from Outpost and TRB. My first Immigrant (after numerous estate cab and True cabs), which is a blend of roughly 1/3 each CS, ME, and CF. Double decanted after about 3 hours, and it had some sediment left in the decanter, so I was glad I did the double.

Dark purple (consistent with Outpost in general), notes of tobacco, leather, bit of licorice. Dangerously smooth on the finish. In a very good place right now after some air. Wish I picked up more of this at $110 a few years ago.

    April 15, 2020 - Pop n pour.
This was rather restrained out of the gate, I would have guessed young classified Bordeaux.
But with 20 minutes of air this is pure delicious cali cab blend. Full of flavor, but balanced enough to maintain composure and not become a caricature.
Really quite fabulous and worth an effort.
