December 19, 2014 - The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. The body is full. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

January 28, 2013 - Most interesting. Has lost its pizzaz compared to our 9/2/11 tasting. No flaws. Mild to moderate sediment. Moderate rim variation. Faint to low fruit nose. Low fruit taste. No tannin. Low alcohol taste. Short finish. Would suggest if you have it to drink it. We have one more. Will add final note then.

December 31, 2012 - This was very impressive. Although the winery is located in St Helena, it has that "Rutherford dust" quality that I enjoy in many Napa Cabernets. In a perfect drinking window right now with a medium length decant. Well made 2001 Napa Cabs are just rockin right now!

September 2, 2011 - Paired nicely with Italian sausage. Very mature at this point. Have 3 left which we will drink this year. Do not think it will make the end of the CT window of 2020

December 17, 2010 - Popped and poured, immediately hit with the nose of chocolate and red fruit. On the palate, soft tannins and a nice burst of fruit that fades and thins out towards the end. I'd like to notify the owners of the other 93 community bottles that they shoudl be thinking about drinking up!

April 4, 2010 - Decanted for a half hour. Dark red currant, ripe plum and damp earth/wet leaves on the nose with some traces of oak. Good fruit up front on the palate, though I would have liked to have seen a bit more on the mid palate. Medium plus bodied with moderate acidity. Very soft tannins and good length.

April 11, 2008 - Decanted 1 hour. Medium body. Nice tannin spread, purple fruit. Age starting to show a bit in mid-palate.

December 1, 2007 - Didn't take notes but this wine was gone in a flash which is always a good sign. Pure high quality fruit, deft elevage or at least the wood was not blunt, pleasing fruit-and-berry driven finish. Very good.

March 5, 2004 - Tasted from the Vintage Wines, Ltd. tasting bar. First bottle badly corked, second bottle clean. Bright disc. Opaque purple robe with violet rim. Moderately intense currants, cedar and vanilla on the nose. Full-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity, big, somewhat coarse tannins, and heavy-handed oak. Medium, slightly dry finish. Will likely benefit from some cellaring.
