September 11, 2023 - I have had 1 or 2 bottles of various older vintages of this wine (a longtime favorite) and was getting concerned because the wine was a bit off, but this bottle had all of the classic Nusserhof Lagrein features -- super dark color, lots of dark berry and plum fruit, pulled together in a very balanced wine that is medium-bodied, and plenty fresh and food friendly. Great wine!
January 19, 2020 - Drank really well - light bodied enough to go with Chinese food and plenty of dark fruit.
January 10, 2020 - Dark berry and pine, very approachable. Enjoyed with pork loin and pilaf.
October 3, 2019 - black forest cake and pine cones and pine straw; very alpine forest red, light on palate (12.5% abv) but no shortage of fruit or concentration; unique but remains versatile, very nice
August 11, 2019 - Lovely wine that evolved interestingly through the evening and reflected well its Tyrolean roots.
September 7, 2018 - perfectly balanced wine with style. understatement. blackberry with decent spice and cinnamon. perfectly integrated tannin with acid, ends with a perfectly balanced finish and holds on its complexity for a minute. only recognizable as lagrein for those who are common with that variety. definitely one to stock up. alto adige at it's best.
July 29, 2018 - Dark berries, red fruit, minerals, and cedar on the nose. Dusty tannins and medium+ acidity. Berries, plums, and more fruit on the palate. Good finish.
