November 25, 2021 - Flavors of citrus, apple, pear, flowers, salinity, minerals. Moderate finish.
September 12, 2021 - Rogue US wine brought to Italian whites survey. While this one was educational it's real purpose seemed to be to highlight how much better the vermentino from sardinia was that we tested alongside this one. Palate was short and finished on an unpleasant unripe note. Perhaps unripe pear skin, I didn't dwell on it too much. I think this probably got some lees age as there is diacetyl on nose and palate.
August 28, 2020 - We pulled this after a long week filled with a string of challenges. It was the second bottle of the night ... for just the two of us. A very different wine from the Rochioli that started the evening with lemon oil, Meyer lemon compote and pear. Decidedly less body than the Rochioli. This is a wine that delivers flavor and character. 13.5% alc. With molé and goaty cheeses. 08.28.20. Recommended.
July 10, 2020 - This has picked up more color in the past 6 months showing more yellow than silver moon. Yet the nose and palate remain clean with mineral, pear, white flower ... maybe a bit of orange blossom. The mouthfeel is crisp, but neither lean nor fat ... it’s just right. This is a wine that delivers flavor and character. It’s a bit too lean for the buttery cheeses. 13.5% alc. With molé, and butter-soft cheeses. Recommended.
May 15, 2020 - 90 pts - crisp apple, pear, citrus, honeysuckle
January 2, 2020 - Very pale in color with an almost silver moon aspect. A clean nose of mineral, pear, white flower ... maybe a bit of orange blossom. The mouthfeel is crisp, but neither lean nor fat ... it’s just right. This is a wine that delivers flavor and character. It has enough body to stand up to the meal which was a bit of a surprise. 13.5% alc. which is a bit high considering how light the wine itself feels. With baked, bone-in chicken breasts topped with cajan spices. Recommended.
September 25, 2019 - Highly floral wine, white flowers, lilac, peach, potpourri, lime peel. Palate gives sharp style, rock salt, green stem, limestone, apricot skin. Fruit does better 2nd taste, in the finish. Interesting wine, not for everyone, could be interesting food pairing.
April 20, 2019 - Barboursville Vineyards (at the winery with Luca Paschina): Has more fat than the Final, some spicy notes, this goes 8 months on the lees with stirring every 2 weeks, which probably accounts for the full body on this white. Not so much on the nose.
