December 3, 2023 - Fabulous. Still fairly exuberant, with juicy red plums dominating on the nose. Middle-weighted on the palate, with well balanced acidity and soft tannin, this was great with duck.
February 21, 2023 - A Good Monday: Dirty & Rowdy & EDWC YEAH! Tasting in ATL: Really excellent showing. Terrific balance of acidity, clean red fruit, spice, plum, some mint. Delicious texture. Youthful. Beauty.

July 18, 2022 - Hard to believe that it’s been over three years since I last had this wine. Of course time has been a bit of an odd construct these last few years. The time has been good to this wine. The fruit has settled in and developed a velvety sheen. The herbal elements have turned to mint and rosemary. It’s texturally inviting while remaining lithe and limber. It’s a featherweight that can jump out of the way when one tries to capture it. Delightful.
December 9, 2019 - Liked this, didn't love it, especially for the price. Has some D&R markers with a little funky/herbal streak to it. Felt just a little disjointed, perhaps drinking a bit too early and will all come together?
June 29, 2019 - I felt based on the tasting notes here I was not drinking the same wine. Very disappointed, this wine was not better than a $10 H3 from the bottom shelf of the super market. Consumed with pasta. I would rate this wine at 84. I saved half to review again, maybe it will improve.
April 23, 2019 - An enjoyable wine. I got spice and red fruit on the nose. There was a lot of blue and red fruit on the finish. This was easy to drink with dinner. It is a light and lively Merlot. One of my favorite D&R wines.
March 9, 2019 - Much more a D&R wine than a Merlot. Light, red fruited, bright acids and a pleasing herbal streak carry through until the tannins clamp down on the finish. I’ve never had a Merlot from Alder Springs, so I cannot speak to how the site carries through this variety. It does impart some grip! I will be interested to see how this evolves over the next several years.
January 18, 2019 - Dang, very nice, and I have no reference point for this. Identifiably merlot? I'm not sure. Identifiably D&R? Honestly, not sure about that, either. But pure and rich and easy and lovely and that is plenty for me.
January 4, 2019 - Fantastic. Maybe my favorite Merlot.
