September 26, 2022 - Sandlands wines continue to confound me. They are always good, but never press all the buttons. This bottle showed both a primary juiciness, and also a tough of an earthy core. Too young? Maturing? No real clue. What’s clear is that the wines perform with the complexity of a duo, rather than a quartet or orchestra. There’s harmony, but not many layers. Pleasant drinking but not worth chasing.

January 28, 2021 - This was a fab bottle. Decanted 90 mins. ahead. Cherry, bramble, flowers, mint. A lifted texture on the palate, clear fruits and light tannins on the finish. Could go for a few yrs. more but it’s exc. now.

December 12, 2020 - Fantastic. Tart cherries and raspberries with a salty minerality. Just enough of tannin to add structure in the background. Lots to like and I typically stay away from mourved.

August 3, 2020 - Purple in color. 13.4% ABV. Savory nose of red fruits, wet pavement, flowers and earth. Medium to full bodied with perfect acidity. Earthy with tangy fruits. Cranberry, tart cherries, earth and minerals on the palate. The finish is long with drying tannins. Well made wine that embodies the style Tegan has laid out for Sandlands. Best over the next 2-4 years.
