June 13, 2019 - Another great bottle of this wine showing great consistency and a balance and character that at this level is admirable. There are lovely savoury and fruit characters previous described that remind one of a Tuscan autumn and there is a lot to like about that !

March 24, 2019 - Light color. Candied fruit up front. A little tobacco in the finish.

March 12, 2019 - A lovely bottle of wine with a dark cherry colour and an expressive nose of cherries, redcurrant, thyme and balsamic vinegar with touches of lavender and earth. The palate is reflective of the fruit and herb characters on the nose with a great whip of acid and tannin that provides life and balance. The purity and transparency are admirable in a wine of this level.

January 19, 2019 - 3 hour decant (mag decanter). Nose: Initially ripe red fruit driven soon after opening. Currently shows red fruits with a slight dusty quality but not giving up a whole lot. Palate: Quite modern in style with cherries and some mineral aspects and not much else. The modern aspects are quite surprising given Cannalicchio's Brunellos are more traditional. While somewhat enjoyable don't think I'll be buying more of this as I prefer Rossos that have much more secondary qualities and I don't think age will necessarily bring that out given the style now. In an absolute sense this could be 90 points but given the lack of typicity it garners an 89.

December 14, 2018 - The nose was beautiful, even if a bit subdued tonight, showing blackberry, tart cherry, savory herbs, and minerals with dark floral perfumes, and hints of undergrowth. On the palate, I found silky textures offset by a mix of zesty acid, minerals and spice, with ripe blackberry, tart cherry, black tea and a twang of savory herbs. The finish was long showing saturating dark red fruits, lingering acids, minerals, herbs and hints of gruff tannin.

It's amazing to think that this is a Rosso, because it outclasses many producers Brunellos.
