April 27, 2023 - Spring Rite of Passage bottle. Opened and poured to celebrate springs arrival. Quite a gold color for a Kab. Hints of oily petrol, lychee, quince, pear and lemon. Not as sweet, not as acidic as the best years. Faint citrus sweets, a little viscous in the mouth. Lemon bar flavors. Subtle but lacking a little electricity and sweetness at this point. A little better on day two and three, showing a little more clarity and acidity, so will bump up a point.

March 7, 2020 - Opened and poured.....very yellow and thick for a kab......heavy petrol notes on swirl, neutral at rest. Dense, sweet with less acidity than say the 2001 had....more like a spatlese. Lychee, citrus, kiwi, peach.

July 24, 2017 - Crumbly cork mostly extracted. Honeyed coloring of amber straw. Lighter than, 2001, has the petrol with cork nose. Honeydew, marmalade, green apple. There's a nice acidity keeping this lively, moreso than some of the heavier vintages. Quite enjoyable on a rainy evening.

November 22, 2012 - Paired with a PN and Thanksgiving dinner. A faint citrine color. Nose of petrol resins, gooseberry, lemon chiffon. Quince, kiwi, pear granny smith applie and minerals on the lively palate. Not too sweet, a little tartness, glides on the acidic rocky backbone showing deftness. Very nice.

March 5, 2011 - Strong petrol on the nose that blows off with a little air. The bottle was leaking sugar and was sticky on the outside so I was worried the cork was compromised which is why I decided it was time to open the last of this wine. Decanted an hour and the fruit was amazing. Mineral, wet stone, peach, apple and apricot. Still plenty of life. Wish I had 6 more to taste over the next 20 years.

December 18, 2010 - Nose: Slight petrol and rubber band under the apple aromas. Palate: Apples and pear flavors with still very crisp acidity and a light to medium length finish. Great balance. Last bottle I had of this was on 2/1/09 and this still has a lot of life left. Regrettably my last bottle of this. Very nice Kab.

February 7, 2010 - SuperBowl Night (Ward's, Chicago IL): nose: crisp and focused nose of green apples, bits of petrol, white florals and some citrus tones

taste: excellent and balanced tones of green apples, pears, tart citrus', and a touch of minerals. Very good medium+ acidity backs this up and gives it good support

overall: a quality riesling. Very tasty with crisp tones on both the nose and palate. This was a great opener and would also be great with a lot of food

November 28, 2009 - Pretty consistent with previous tasting note. Lots of dried apricots and honey in a creamy and long finish.
Getting a little darker. Great with Thai food!
