    November 28, 2023 - Coravin tasting
blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 15% Syrah
    deep purple
pronounced aromas and flavors intensity of ripe dark forest fruits (cherries, blueberries, prunes), oak-vanilla, earth, dark chocolate, pine-tree, pencil graphite, complexed, long finish, dry, high acidity, med+ tannins, med abv, full body, well balanced, rustic style in a way, quite enjoyable, very good value for money.
Can drink now or age 2-5 years more.

November 1, 2023 - Cassis, tobacco and clove aromas lead the way on this lithe blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. The polished, linear palate offers red currant, black cherry and a sprinkling of ground pepper alongside fine-grained tannins. Drink through 2020

September 23, 2023 - This blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 15% Syrah visually insinuates a high level of extraction with an impenetrably dark blackberry color to the rim, an aroma of cherry and sweet black and blue fruit, and a slightly smokey and dusty bouquet of pencil shavings and licorice laced fruit compote.
The mouthfeel, sans food, is of medium light viscosity and presents with integrated but simplistic sweet blackberry and blueberry flavors, that initially thin on the front palate, along with a fleeting metallic presence that dissipates mid palate, allowing the return, on the finish, of sweet fruit and vanilla bean, buoyed by a supportive and well balanced acidity, and gentle tannins.
With food, the mouthfeel transforms from angularity to a more velvety, yet bright on the palate mouthfeel. Although this wine is slightly more thin and less extracted than I would have expected, it is a very well made mass produced wine (more than one million bottles made), more evocative of a sophisticated Northern California Alexander Valley style red varietal blend than one of an Italian etiology.
