February 16, 2022 - Opened and decanted with grilled salmon and mixed veggies. Clear, crimson color with a violet hue. The nose brings brings potpourri, spring violets, purple lavender, grape menthol, spearmint, and earthy forest floor. The palate is medium, square, textured, and juicy, bringing a solid core of blackberries, rhubarb, and huckleberries complimented by high-toned red cherries, pomegranate, and red cherries, mixed with subtle hints of wood smoke, black tea, and anise, which transitions into a slightly tannic finish. This is exceptional and will only improve to round out its rough edges, so drink 2022-2030. Technical score: 93. Enjoyment score: 93.
