April 20, 2022 - I wanted to like it more! Had it on release about three years ago and it actually drank better then and seemed to have a promising future. Tonight, eh. I liked it but it didn’t bowl me over-sort of 2 dimensional instead of the usual 4 I expect with really good Nebbiolo

June 30, 2021 - Appearance: medium garnet. Some sediment and no gas. Medium tearing. Definitely seems to present some age and bricking

Nose: Medium intense aged maraschino cherry with notes of menthol and flowers with hints of plum. Medium cinnamon secondary aromas

Palate: medium/medium(-) intense dark cherry and leather with notes of cinnamon. Medium/medium(+) acidity, silky medium(+) tannins that coat the whole tongue, medium (+) bodied, dry plush textured. Medium/medium(+) cinnamon and perfume finish. Very balanced

A very nice Barbaresco! Silky tannins with some age, although the flavors maybe could be a little stronger. Solid balance and very refreshing

  • Fractalage Does not like this wine:

October 2, 2019 - Big oak nose and big oak palate. Ug.
    Why?
Really ruined this queen of vitus vinifera.
No reason, really, to impart these expensive oak tannins only to horribly taint this excellent fruit. Doesn't need it.
I rate this one a big boooooo with two thumbs down.

March 31, 2019 - Delicious Nebbiolo, ready to drink. Big fruit up front followed by abundant acidity and remarkably soft (yet significant) tannins.

I am not used to a wine like this being ready to drink (in a Nebbiolo kind of way), usually needs at least five years.

    I like it!

January 30, 2019 - So is this the new generation taking over? Sweet and tangy perfume, dare I say a touch underripe? But in a good way? Soft, with a backbone on the palate, approaching textbook Barbaresco at a high level.
