October 15, 2023 - Well, this is interesting. I started out rating this wine at 94 pts and changed it to 97 pts as I was writing. This is why: Here is a Pinot Noir that has been grown and vinted in California that is actually looking like a real authentic Pinot Noir. The color is not opaque like many of its California and Oregon produced cousins. The color is a light candy apple red, with a gentle nose of pleasant fresh-cut wood esters and raisins. There is a wonderful mouthfeel, with a certain dryness and well balanced acidity and tannin content. Legs are evenly dispersed and fun to gaze upon. The finish is long-lasting and satisfying. Will go exceedingly well with grilled duck, which will offset the characteristic high fat content perfectly. Well done, Windy Oaks! Really, a stunning and caring product of this winery's efforts.
April 25, 2022 - This is a good wine. Very fruity and lower tannins. I would prefer a bit more earthieness, but if you like a lighter and fruit forward Pinot, this would do it.
January 23, 2022 - Always an enjoyable pinot
September 15, 2019 - I forgot to take specific notes when drinking with family yesterday, but it was great.
July 22, 2019 - Mine was a 2014, still lovely but I should have pulled it out last year
July 12, 2019 - This continues to develop nicely.
June 12, 2019 - Delicious when celebrating a STL Blues Stanley Cup Victory.
December 19, 2018 - 13.7% abv. Light burgundy, moderate aromas. Raspberry, cranberry and Asian spice on the palate, good depth, excellent complexity and length. Very nice now, but still on the ascent.
