October 7, 2022 - Pretty nose with notes of strawberry, leather, darker fruit, olive, and underwood. Good acidity with tart red fruit and cherries on the palate. Very lovely wine, although it didn’t really taste like a classic Pinot. Regardless, it was very enjoyable and is probably drinking at peak right now.

September 9, 2019 - Thomas Pinot Noir Vertical (Dan's House): From a vertical of 7 Thomas pinots, this one did not meet my expectation. It was still similar in style to the other wines, it just seemed a bit tired.

August 29, 2019 - Thomas Pinot Noir Vertical (Dan and Elise's, Mpls): Light medium marroonish red color. PNP, drank a glass over 2 hours. This started out a bit reticent, but over the course of 20 to 30 minutes it fleshed out very nicely. Red fruits on the nose with a dried earth and dried spices, and a hint of anise. The palate is lighter medium body with a mix of cherry and cranberry, earthy, resolved tannins, good length. Good and gets much better in glass. 92+pts.

April 1, 2019 - Mushrooms, red fruit, underwood, and red berries on the complex nose. Good acidity, with matureflabors of strawberries and dark cherries on the palate. Good finish.

January 20, 2019 - 13.4% alcohol. Light red color with slight bricking. This wine has a soaring nose of brett, cherry, rose petal, earthy mushroom, and celery. The palate is complex with brett, cherry, raspberry, mushroom, minerals, and aged bottle sweetness. There is a silky, weightless mouthfeel with excellent acidity and overall balance. The finish is very long with red fruits and earthiness lingering on the tongue. With air, some of the brettiness dissipates, leaving red fruit and mushrooms. Overall, this did not pair well with goat cheese, as it flattened the wine, but it paired beautifully with beets and orange salad as well as the risotto. This was spectacularly good because of its complexity and its uniquely weightless profile. A great wine.

June 29, 2018 - Over the years, I have criticized a few bottles of this wine for being brett-affected.
Tonight as I drink an absolutely delicious bottle that shows red fruit, earth and a touch of fine tannin, I’m wondering if there was just a phase where the fruit was subsumed by the tannin and earth.

Regardless, this bottle was really good.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

April 21, 2018 - Legends of the Spring 2018 (Portland, Oregon house of TW and AW): Light red with primary nose of a melange of red berries. Palate boysenberry with moderate acidity, excellent grip and a long sweet red licorice finish, that is almost starting to creep into the window of brilliant drinkability. (2023-2039)

October 2, 2017 - Held up well, still fresh, acidity was wonderful. Needed an hour or so to reveal itself.
