May 21, 2021 - Back at 67: Excellent Burgundy, extremely pure and with that wonderful balance between weightlessness and concentration - a real overperformer and another good experience with a 2016 red. All about the fruit at the moment but I'm sure this will develop nicely - I can imagine the game and sous bois already.

September 8, 2020 - Really very good effort.

First night it is aromatic and lovely but also quite tight with lots of freshness dominating, creating a feeling of elegance, purity of fruit, raspberry dominated flavors. Some crunchy grip at the finish, but with sandpapered tannins.

Second night and after additional hours of air time, the wine is equally good, just bigger and bolder - and with some blackberries, licorice, even sweet chocolate strawberries perhaps. The grip is there and the acidity is mouthwatering and the finish just as long, but it is almost a Grenache feel to it on day two.

I like both faces of this wine just as much and I think it's a beauty and a keeper and a wine both for the pinot head with its silky texture and long narrow fresh finish, as well as for those who like me grew up on slightly bolder earthy, smoky sous-boys complex pinots with dark berry profile from new world like producers. Excellent!

91 pts
