September 7, 2017 - Dark red, thin garnet edge. Nose is tobacco, sous bois and smoke. Sour cherry fruit, oak, dense and very long. The finish has bitterness, sweet fruit and slightly chewy tannin. interesting and it is nicely sewed together albeit with a rather coarse thread. This is unique and very good.

April 2, 2016 - Lovely balanced wine with flavours of tinned strawberry and cranberries, underpinned with a little coffee and liquorice. Some tannins still here, but perhaps the intensity has gone. Either bottle variation or it is (just) over the top.

August 15, 2014 - Excelente Baga. Topo de gama de Luis Pato. Aromas ricos e bem integrados.

March 31, 2013 - Probably my favourite wine of the year so far. Fresh cranberry and raspberry fruit. Great balance, lovely fresh refreshing finish. Long. Just so drinkable and so enjoyable.

May 7, 2012 - Very refreshing acidity, overlaying raspberry and red currant fruit. This is amazingly light and lifting - almost a citrus / orange rind flavour. Long. Much much more settled on the second day, with the fruits starting to hold sway over the acidity. Tried it with spicy salt and pepper squid and it was a great, if unexpected match. I reckon it would also go well with a rare steak....

    Try again in 2015!

December 26, 2011 - Had a bottle of this to a traditional Swedish Julbord (Christmas smorgasbord) and it was a perfect match. Normally you would drink beers (and schnapps) with a lot of hops in a stout or india pale ale-style but this wine was big enough to withstand all the different types of flavors while supple and refined enough to be a delicious and elegant drink.

March 19, 2008 - NM. 90-91pts. E.

February 20, 2008 - Jeroboam Club Tasting: Wines of Portugal (130 Cheltenham Road, Bristol): Dark plum in colour. Edgy green-tinged fruit, plums, spicey, orange peel. Spicy fruit on the palate - sour plums - and good acidity, with muddy and peppery tannins. Unusual, a bit rustic, but rather more-ish. Good now.
