Community Tasting Notes 6

  • Pmgreenberger Likes this wine:

January 1, 2024 - PNP: Fresh berry, abundant fruit on the nose.
Decanted for ~1 hour: Strawberry scent on nose still present. Flavor profile included red fruit and some minerality.

March 3, 2023 - The Verticals Tasting at 2023 La Paulée (Eventi Hotel, New York): Lighter shade of ruby than the 2015. Char on the nose. Medium weight, sappy ripe fruit, excellent soil finish. More tannic grip and less forthcoming than the 2015. Structurally, this is closer to my mental image of Corton. I liked all 3 vintages of this wine, and the more discrete cooperage in the younger wines is encouraging. Tollot-Beaut was a pleasant surprise today.

December 11, 2021 - Wild strawberry notes, long finish, and paired well with beef tenderloin. As good as the first time we tasted it several months ago.

October 19, 2018 - Wine Spectator newbies; 10/18/2018-10/20/2018 (Marriott Marquis): Very tart. On the nose its all cinnamon. The palate begins with red currant and then slightly harsh in the finish. Wonder if that is something that will smooth out with some more time. There's a bit of an ashy note right at the end.

October 8, 2018 - Winebow / Vintage Burgundy Tasting (ella - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. Complex black and red cherry aromas with licorice and espresso. Similar flavors, slightly less ripe, good and elegant textures. Expanding finish. Very nicely balanced now.
