October 21, 2023 - A year and a half since the last bottle, and it had actually gained some earth. Previous bottles were all fruit but this bottle tasted like it had been fermented with some of the stems still intact, as there was a nice undercurrent of forest floor. Cherry flavors still dominated but the earth added another dimension and an old-world touch.

March 28, 2023 - From a .750. Similar profile from my notes of 11-3-21 and 10-26-21, except to note it was more settled.

February 20, 2023 - According my portfolio data this is my 15th ChdP and I can say one thing. Chateau La Nerthe 2005 was the only one better than this. It's powerful, muscular, majestic wine. It has everything what great ChdP should have! I'm not even sure how to start to describe it. Let's start traditional way, but taste kicks and wakes my tongue with every second, even after a minute or longer after sip
Well, who said, the life is fair.
Aromas - sweet red and black fruits, blueberry too! Herbs, coffee, chocolate, hints of tobacco
I can mention millions of aromas, but what is indescribable is the pleasure of smelling. It says simply: why drink when you can get intoxicated by the smell alone. 😱🤠
Well I have to fight really hard to overcome this addiction, because taste it's even more amazing.
Again black fruits, red fruits, milk chocolate, coffee, hints of tobacco, spice and herbs.
And something else what makes this wine fresh, vibrant, vigorous, addictive!
    Texture - thick, velvety.
Acidity - fresh and perfectly blended with flavors
Tannins - dusty and grippy, but the way they should be, to make you, that you want to take another sip.
15% AVB. No way to detect this high volume of alcohol.
Should I put it on negative side of the wine? 😉

July 17, 2022 - I love a CDP, as does our virtual tasting group but this one was not a crowd pleaser. Medium ruby colored it had pronounced aromas of game (road kill), tomato, sawdust, violets, herbs de Provence and baked/stewed blueberry. The palate was dry with well integrated medium (+) tannins, low acidity and a medium body. Flavors of game, stewed blueberry, charcoal, smoke, and a waxy component were noted. The finish was decently long for this 91 point wine. I scored it 15 points on our grading scale and for $50 it only gets 3 stars from me. The pro's went as high as 96 points for this old vine Grenache blended with Syrah and Mourvedre. I would drink this angular wine with stews or perhaps a venison roast. Cellar wise- it should go till 2030.

April 22, 2022 - A year since the last bottles. PnP at cellar temp. Nose of cherries and just a hint of earth. Cherries and blackberry compete on the palate. Tannins are smooth and the aftertaste lasts a good thirty+ seconds and there is no bitterness.

Overall a modern CdP with no earth or funk, but good Grenache flavors. No increase in score despite some changes. Next bottle in another year.
