June 16, 2023 - Fourth bottle in four years, and this was more in line with the one in 2021 than 2022. A fair amount of pepper mixed with cherries at first. The cherries faded after about 45 minutes but the pepper remained, joined by smoked meats and black fruits. A little less oomph than in the past.
May 8, 2023 - well executed blend. popped the cork and started drinking 2 hours later. in balance, smooth, and lives up to the Torrin standards. 3 left and will try likely one a year.
July 30, 2022 - No notes taken Wedding party post celebration But it was drinking well. Loved it
July 3, 2022 - Very fruit forward, well-integrated with a terrific bouquet of roses and red berries. Full-bodied and smooth going down! Simply a quintessential Torrin without wrestling you to the ground.
Happy to have 4 bottles to go!
July 2, 2022 - Nose of blackberry, beef blood, and menthol.
Black fruits on the palate. My wife finds it smoky and jammy, and I find it full of blackberries, plum, and currants, with a hint of black pepper. Unlike my bottle last year, I didn't get cherry from the Grenache this time. Full-bodied and no harsh edges; delicious.
I have more left but having had three bottles in three years, I find this changing some but neither improving nor declining. Fine to drink now or continue to hold.
June 11, 2022 - I thought this was great. and ready
August 30, 2021 - Good but has lost a bit of spunk since my last time with this wine.
April 9, 2021 - Huh. Drank all my 2014's at beginning of the pandemic and they sung. Just had a '15 Tsundere a few days ago and was sorely disappointed. And again tonight, this wine was just uninspiring, unmemorable, and meh. So unusual for Torrin. They just seem to drop off a cliff at the end. Methinks it could be that 2015 was a bad year? Dunno. A couple more 15's to go, fingers crossed....
March 18, 2021 - Syrah is in the forefront with blackberries and pepper. Cherry comes through as well. Fragrant, full-bodied, but integrated. Long finish. Can age for several years but no shame in drinking now.
January 1, 2021 - Joan and I absolutely loved this wine. Just starting to enter it's prime and may even improve over the coming 5 years. The Torrin wines are my second favorite Paso wines after the Saxums.
