December 20, 2023 - This was on fire right at PnP. I just let it bottle decant. Purple. Ripe blackberries, plums, cigar, sweet tobacco, melted licorice, with spring rain on a dusty road to the vineyard! Good acid, velvety tannins on long finish. Jean H. says he loves the Thomas Vineyard. I enjoyed the ‘15 and ‘17 too. Cheers 🍷

December 3, 2022 - Small 2016 Alpha Omega horizontal (Sunshine Valley, Stagecoach, Thomas) generously opened by Andreas for dinner. Am surprised to see the three wines rated almost exactly the same on CT as I had Stagecoach and Thomas clearly above Sunshine Vallet.
Stagecoach: A tighter and more sinewy Cab than the other two, and the only one that seemed to need more time. Deep dark fruit, medium (+) tannins, good length 94.
Thomas: Right now in the best drinking of the three. Richer and more concentrated fruit than Stagecoach, very polished, on a finish a touch of chocolate hinting at the warmer location. 94
Sunshine: Rich and round but lacking a but in structure in my eyes. Unlike the other two this tastes more like a Cab/Merlot blend. Good wine but not particularly interesting. 91

April 28, 2022 - Going on a 4+ hr decant. Sensational nose of dark cherry preserves, blackberry compote, raspberry jam and toasted vanilla. Initial strong oak influence that blew off in an hour. Palate adds a magnificent balance of lush dark fruits to a brooding, almost rustic feel to the wine. Adding some slate, gun powder, crushed rocks and sawdust. It’s full-bodied and simultaneously not too heavy. Fine grippy tannins and acidity. Great finish. Between 96-97. Cheers all!

January 16, 2020 - It smells like raisin, mineral and black pepper. The body is full. The wine finishes medium. The wine looks crimson colored.

November 23, 2018 - This one has really started to come around to an even better place than the last time around. This vineyard never really excited me but the 2016 vintage has probably the best to offer of all in the lineup in my opinion. Nice dark purple red color and extraction, the fruit is dark and ripe, but show a bit dry on the palate as before. There is soil and some earthy notes with this Cab too, I believe it's heading in a good direction. My favorite in the group for 2016. 96 Points.
