September 6, 2018 - I am not quite sure what the story of this entry-level Reserva bottling of La Rioja Alta is, but I saw it on sale at €11/bottle and thought it would be worth a try. Red fruit, coffee, spices, clove and vanilla on the nose and palate, with lively, almost aggressive acidity, dusty tannin and good length. A little rustic, with average concentration and complexity. A solid value at the price I paid, but I would spent the extra Dollars to trade it up and get e.g. the Ardanza Reserva.
