Community Tasting Notes 4

February 20, 2024 - Slo-oxed for15 minutes, chilled. A more enjoyable (to us) bottle than our previous one as the oak influence was less obvious. A medium yellow in color with some stone fruit on the nose. The medium to plus bodied palate yielded yellow stone fruits, yellow apple, lemon creme and balancing acidity. A well-made wine that may benefit from some air time up front and that should hold to the decade mark.

August 20, 2023 - PnP, chilled. A medium+ yellow in color. Some stone fruit and oaky notes on the nose. The medium to plus bodied buttery palate yielded yellow stone fruits, vanilla, lemon creme and balancing acidity, with a dollop of oak spice on the finish. A well-made wine with a bit more oak influence than we like.

July 4, 2021 - Initially seems a touch brash with whack of spice at the end. Given some time this evens out.
Medium / full with butter, cream and touch of apple pip with that spice at the end.

October 6, 2019 - This oily and honeyed Chardonnay tastes a bit heavy at the moment, though perhaps it needs 6-12 months to settle down. Light yellow in color and creamy in mouthfeel, the wine offers muted aromas of lemon curd and pear. Tastes of caramel apple, grapefruit, buttered toast, and vanilla bean, with a round, viscous finish that carries a streak of citrus and acidity that is hard to decipher under the toasty oak. 14.1% alcohol. Decant at least an hour, but probably just wait until 2020.
