January 20, 2023 - Mid weight. Good balance. Not overly complex. Paired nicely with Friday night pizza.

November 20, 2022 - Tastes like Montalcino. Dusty, chocolate covered cherries. Dark and brooding with vegetal/ratatouille flavors. Leather. Really great for the price. One step better than the Castagnoli Chianti from the same vintage and a good match with grilled chicken with a stewed tomato sauce and grilled squash. This is really enjoyable for the price.

December 31, 2020 - Love the high-tone character from the North of Montalcino. Lacks just a notch of concentration, but is otherwise a very, traditional example and a pleasure to drink.

August 28, 2020 - {cork, 14%} Solid garnet, not aged. Slightly dilute nose, low key fruit, savoury character. Drying, shortish palate, medium dusty tannins, medium acid, not much fruit flavour. Patchy palate presence. Better with food but hte kind of wine that just makes you wish you’d paid more for the Brunello.

July 24, 2020 - { oak, 14%} Slightly manky-looking but not leaky cork reveals a musty, carpet-smelling wine with a hint of pepper and some underlying dark fruit; plums, boysenberries, maybe even some liquorice. Even after an hour (not decanted) the musty character never goes away. Palate also has a musty quality, dark red fruit, but dilute and almost translucent. The medium weight is carried almost entirely by alcohol and light dusty tannins, with medium acidity too. Short, clipped finish, not too musty but not very interesting or fruity either. Might be slightly corked- I guess the other bottle will tell me in time. Update; yes, corked, the second bottle was much different.
