October 20, 2023 - Dark intensity, in color and also finish. Nose is a little more earthy, a lot of dark cherry notes on palate. Not a massive finish, still decent life even at 8+ years of age. Liked it a lot more than i expected.

October 10, 2020 - Deep red. Red currant, plum, round and mouth filling. Balanced with spice. Excellent pairing with pork tenderloin in mushroom and black pepper wine sauce.

July 31, 2020 - After drinking a quality Oregon Pinot, this was similarly pleasing but with more spice & earthiness and les pronounced fruit. Definitely a quality bottle.

October 22, 2019 - This wine was fantastic. We tasted three Grenache's, a french, a Spanish and the Benovia. The California wine was by far the most refined and smooth with a little bit of spice and dark fruit. It was surprisingly good.
The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like fig, black pepper and lead pencil. The body is medium. The wine has polished texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

October 21, 2018 - Had this at a dinner party last night together with some beef pot roast and some roasted root vegetables. This wine was absolutely singing! Great copious nose and taste of earthy black raspberries. Tartness was very good and it did not present itself as a jammy fruit forward wine, but instead, presented and integrated and lively. very good stuff....
