May 25, 2023 - I bought two bottles -- one for New Year's 2000 and one for the millenial New Year. (It was highly touted c1999). It was quite nice, with biscuity character. Not fabulous. (Broadbent low to mid 4 stars, in my view). I have had only a couple of super Champagnes and I found them marginally or not better than a decent Brut.

November 14, 2021 - Off-the-chain!!! Riveting complexity. Layered, liquid magic! Tasted before all the reds, and afterwards...when it showed even better. Easily a top ten Champagne of my lifetime, probably in the top five. Absolutely stunning that a 36-year-old Champagne offered such vivacity. In due deference to the 2010 Domaine de Chevalier, my WOTN of the formal tasting, this was the WOTN of the afternoon and evening. Many thanks to CF for sharing this gem!

November 6, 2021 - The Nearly Annual Lyon 10 Year Retro Tasting (Lyon's Den): This was a glorious wine and so different from the Carneros sparkler (duh...).
Imagine candied ginger on the thinnest slices of lemon and pear, placed on buttered toast with honey! Fine mousse and great length. Why wait?

June 25, 2021 - Recent purchase from auction. First CC. Experience is similar to the previous notes - pale gold color, fine bead of bubbles, pretty nose of citrus, ginger, and honey that carries very easily to the palate. Round but fresh and complex. Enjoyable bottle. Year 2000 on the foil. Prefer this over the 2002 and 2004 Dom P2.

March 15, 2019 - Mid gold. Moderate sized bubbles. Rich, with butter a touch of toast and some ginger on the nose. Vinous, a gentle mouse, still vital. Quite a meaty, full bodied wine. Rich and long. Certainly not going to improve, but holding well. One of 42-odd thousand bottles released in CH’s Oenoteque series, for the millennium. ****

December 4, 2018 - Simply beautiful aged Champagne. Softened now but still with some vigor and very well balanced with nutty flavors along with hints of caramel and spice. Really complex on the finish which shows notes of smoky minerals and sweet honey. Not from a recent release and it shows in the age but what a sexy death waltz this is dancing.

July 5, 2017 - SLDS July 2017 (Cirrus): Honey, smoky, earth, ginger and roses on the nose. The palate has rounded out, with mild acidity but really good depth and tasty honeyed fruit. Really composed and delicious drinking now.
