Community Tasting Notes 1

August 4, 2007 - A cranberry color, but a nose of cherry and teaberry similar to its big sister, the 05 Etzel Block that Bob brought (see 072007 TN). Olive notes and some green stemminess also make their way into the nose. It’s an adequate wine but the stemminess punches through on the palate as well. The expected cherry, cola and teaberry is there. The olive tapanade brings out a hint of olive on the palate as well. But the wine lacks depth or complexity and has a bit of heat on the finish. 13.5%. alc. A nice pairing with the seared tuna with olive tapanade and agugula dressed with olive oil and lemon juice.
