Community Tasting Notes 6

May 21, 2019 - No detailed notes, but very enjoyable. Rich and full flavors. Lighter in color than the flavor delivers (expected more of a straw color)… some vanilla, but not quite to caramel. Very good!

March 27, 2019 - Very light straw color. On the nose, subtle hints of tree fruit, yellow apple, pear, some lemon peel. Oak is present but not overpowering. "Lightly toasted" is the best way to describe it. Slight nuttiness, almond, some stone/chalkiness. Medium body supported by higher alcohol levels. Medium acidity. Reminds me of good village-level Burgundys. Good, drink now.

March 25, 2019 - This is nice. Light straw yellow color. Aromas of wet slate, sliced almonds and hazelnuts, and a light flinty, smoky character. Maybe a little waxy yellow and green fruit, but generally not a lot of fruit on the nose here. Medium body, acid, and finish, with nice texture to it, and flavors of pear and green apple, saline, and almonds. This was well made with a lighter touch and a nicely judicious use of oak (read: noticeable but balanced); dare I say "Burgundian?"—at any rate, well done. Should've probably gotten more than 4.

March 2, 2019 - This comes off light and delicate (by Napa standards) but with real focus. I love the ozk treatment here, as it frames the fruit without overpowering. Plenty of fruit, a hazelnutty character and a touch of vanilla. Not many “malo markers” here. Delicious bordering on recelatory at the $20-ish Last Bottle price. 92+.
