January 30, 2024 - In the decanter 2 hours prior to drinking. Blue and black fruited, slightly over extracted and raisened mid to back palate. Bigger than expected for Hunter, nice, but didnt love. Holding up well though

January 26, 2020 - {screwcap, 14%} Deep garnet. Blueberry and chocolate, a sort of Hunter version of a Barossa shiraz. Although there,s a touch of dark spice, and subtle cedar oak too. Only barely developing. Palate is medium-bodied, a touch warm, with blue and black fruit flavours, medium acid, a bit of a dip in the mid-palate, and a medium length finish. Impressive, but hasn’t moved from youth much. A bit savoury, but far from old-fashioned Hunter reds. I’m tending to keep Thomas wines from better vintages in hope and drink young the less-than-perfect years.

September 13, 2019 - Smooth dark colour, light crimson hue. Aroma of pepper, smoke, dried spice, cloves. Sweet tobacco, plum, grilled meat. Medium body, tannin is subtle, providing an invisible base, balanced fresh acidity. Has some flavours which I have trouble picking, an interesting wine with good character. Definitively the best Thomas wines I have had.

April 27, 2019 - Deep red and burgundy. Intensity of red fruit through a medium body. There is a light dusting of white pepper as well. Tannin is so well handled here with a silky mouth feel but there is something about the wine that gives a hugging feel (is that a thing?). Its a wine that manages to encapsulate elegance alongside good structure and power of fruit. Delicious wine that will continue to improve with age.

March 9, 2019 - Hunter Valley 2019 Trip; 3/8/2019-3/9/2019: Blueberry, blackberry, cherry and plum. Sweet and savoury palate, with earthy notes and red fruit threaded throughout. Lovely texture and length. Very impressed.
