November 9, 2019 - still too much oak
December 8, 2017 - Jh dinner
October 14, 2016 - Bottle cap waxed in a very cool bronze gold-like color. Dark garnet hue, dark berries, eucalyptus/green pepper, pencil lead, full bodied, blueberries, long finish. Wine is drinking nicely. Grassy-euro thing going on. Nice time to drink.
March 29, 2015 - Bottle cap waxed in a very cool bronze gold-like color. Dark garnet hue, dark berries, eucalyptus/green pepper, full bodied, blueberries, long finish. Wine is drinking nicely. Of all the wines we tasted, this bottle was actually at the bottom of the list. Nothing negative about the wine-- more positive comments about the others we tasted. Nice time to drink.
December 29, 2014 - This is the 5th bottle of this vintage I've had, but the first time I'm rating it. I've also resisted to temptation to allow other rating to influence me. That said, this wine is drinking beautifully right now. It did not need much time to open up. Drinking it over the course of 3 days, I found it was best on the first night. Nice ruby red. Fruit forward. Well refined. What stood out the most to me was a menthol aspect, which perhaps falls in line with a previous comment regarding "eucalyptus on the nose".
November 1, 2014 - Drinking beautifully!
December 25, 2012 - Big cab, great nose, sweet long finish. Excellent.
April 15, 2012 - Just a fantastic wine.
May 8, 2010 - after about 4 hours open on the counter, the last glass of this earned the 92 pts. Began to open and became very enjoyable. Wish I'd waited the 4 hours to get into it.
October 13, 2007 - Offering a lot of euculyptus on the nose, this wine benefitted from air, and was a well made and enjoyable wine. Not overly sweet, it was appropriate for its varietal and had a nice finish. Impresses more with its complexity than with its power. Was very popular and requested many times at quarterly wine dinner.
