April 16, 2021 - After three weeks of mostly chardonnay and pinot noir this was the first thing under flor (with the exception of the crittenden cri du couer or whatever it was) and it was wonderful to become reacquainted with an old friend. Lovely umami, nuts, figs, saline, pretty much perfect with some stuffed olives and toasted mixed nuts. As usual I find myself wondering why I don't just have more of this in the cellar...

June 27, 2020 - Sherry is so reliable, and this one also delivered. Nose is delightfully ambiguous, with lots of caramelly toasty richness but an undercurrent of austerity. Saline and complex on the palate - furniture, roast nuts, cocoa, fenugreek, celery - and has just the right amount of acidity. Really drinkable even though it's 21.5%.

June 19, 2020 - Nut brown. Med+ intense nose. Dry, full-body, round, rich, creamy, very intense. Great complexity. Like a warm and soft cover served w. a hard punch. Endless and relentless finish. Not a pleaser. Wow.

    Drink.

My notes: Orange liqueur, vanilla fudge, almond extract, marzipan, butterscotch, Armagnac, gasolina, shoyu, zesty bitterness and something burned.

June 10, 2020 - Concentrated on the nose after the Solera. I pick a touch of apple, to go with spice, almost maderised notes, almonds and walnuts, getting a little citrus - kind of orange and lemon here - and oxidised notes. It's juicy, rich, dense, textured, savoury, umami, nuts, long, finishes almost smoky, glorious...absolutely glorious.

March 7, 2018 - sweet rum-like notes on the nose, some brown sugar
rich and textured on the palate, some times it tastes sweet and sometimes dry, changes in the glass, though it is bone dry. Hazlenuts on the finish
    Very good
