November 25, 2023 - Getting way better with age, tannins are softening and smell of earth and leather are coming in. Good now, but still plenty of room to growth. 5 to 10 years max, in my own opinion but Enjoyable now !

September 9, 2023 - This was fantastic. Really fresh while still having deep & dark blue and black fruits. Smoked meats and spice with a finish that keeps going and going. Delicious

Medium- nose. Plenty of raw meat flavor, hint of blackcurrant and floral notes. same on the palate, slightly metallic at the begining then softer. nose more expressive the day after, will decant the next bottle.
went well with truffle tagliolini and lamb.

January 19, 2021 - Opened a split to drink with dinner of pasta and tomato sauce. Ruby-maroon color. Nose with heavy black fruit, plums, vanilla and cedar. Palate includes black fruits with spices. Still fairly tight.. Tannins are not at all sharp but still firm enough that this wine will open up for another decade. Finish is medium.

December 28, 2019 - What an elegant, classic Brunello!

A much better experience than last time I had this. Tannins are soft and polished, the fruit is elegant and juicy. This definitely has some age in the tank.

    Buy!

November 5, 2019 - Dusty cherry fruit, stiff palate in a very classical way. Lots of tannins on the back.

Quite the elegant wine and in the later vintages always surprises us by being less obvious, less modern in a bad way let’s say, smoother and very much the elegant wine. Dark fruited, young but still on the rounder side. Good 91

June 17, 2019 - Brunello di Montalcino 2013 tasting (Restaurant Vineum, Rotterdam, NL): Tasted blind. Deepest and liveliest colour of the flight; complete and deep nose, modern style, black fruit, earth; ripe fruit and good concentration on the palate, well integrated tannins, low acidity, creamy texture, very oaky flavours; slightly burnt oak on the finish, with some back-end heat. I recognised this blind as Gaja, but I can’t say I liked it very much, and neither did the group.

June 1, 2019 - Notes were taken after it had been open overnight.

Quite closed on the nose, full fruit, a little metallic, cherry, hint of vanilla, a little cardamom. Fuller on the palate, with rather intense tannins, and a moderate acidity. Cherry, a little earthy, ripe plums, fairly dry, hint of the metallic note again, bitter orange, and some quinine.

This was very disappointing yesterday, and tasted like a simple, hot fruity sangiovese of zero potential. Today it's a completely different wine, and whilst I still find it to be overpriced, it's a great glass of BdM. It's fairly closed and tannic still, indicating a good life ahead of it. This specific bottle tasted a little cooked, but it didn't affect my impression.
