December 21, 2023 - Good Napa cab that never fails to satisfy me. Some Napa wines are distinctive and for me this has long been one of them. I am happy to be drinking some of the last vintages from this maker before they morphed into the making of their Monterrey and California offerings. On the other hand, sad to be drinking the last of their Napa offerings. Everything changes, but not always for the better!

April 17, 2022 - Very good bottle. Dry, balanced and full flavor. Makes the mouth pucker just a little. Nice finish.

June 19, 2019 - A complex and exotic nose of vanilla spices, sweet cassis, savoury grilled meat with fresh herbs and racy pineapple upon opening. Intriguing and refreshing for a Napa Valley Cabernet. The same aromatic profile explode in the mouth. Rich and flavorful layers of spices, very ripe pineapple, blueberries and oregano. A bit more acidity would be nice to provide a lift towards the end of the full bodied but flabby palate. Very open already for a young wine. Some may find it having too much creamy vanilla oak influence but this should tone down as it ages. Transitions from entry to finish could be somewhat abrupt and aftertaste has got some bitter tannins as expected. This needs a few more years for the elements to come together. It should develop well into a beautiful Cabernet that offers another 5-8 years of drinking window. Outstanding quality/price ratio. 90-92 pts.
