September 17, 2008 - Boy, this was disappointing! Retailer reviews looked reasonably good. I tried it without allowing for and decanting or air time (maybe really needed such). After the first taste, the 1st thing that crossed my mind is whether I could continue to drink and even enjoy this wine. After finishing the first glass, I made my decision - the rest went down the drain. I could not find myself drinking any more. Too many sweet fruity flavors colliding in this wine to really give something notable to latch on to. I predict the standard deviation of scores on this wine will be quite large. It is an anomaly and very different. For me, not in a good way!

August 20, 2008 - Nice red raspberries, with a hint of eucalyptus and definitely something medicinal on the nose. Big red & black fruits on the palate, wow. I am disturbed by a lack of balance, all I am getting is over the top fruitiness. Not much happening on the mid-palate. Soft tannins on 15-20 second finish. This is kinda different, and not necesssarily in a good way! Left overnight on kitchen counter and tried again the following day: raspberries are still there, and the fruit is still overwhelming, like super-heavy-duty fruit punch. This is your basic one-trick pony. I love a good fruit bomb, but this one leaves me cold. Not impressed.

July 24, 2007 - Quite fruity, although I disagree with the "nasty" part. Certainly quite powerful, and I think it would be better toned down a little. Does have a slight petrol nuance throughout the palate, but it is not annoying, like I've had from Pinotage blends. Quite a long finish, and overall a well made wine. Very good QPR.
