May 22, 2022 - The Il Poggio 2013 is a great version of this wine which I unfortunately don't have in my cellar. Good that a dear friend took it to a tasting. Very expressive, sweet spices and usual red/dark fruit nose. In the mouth it's full, with typical Chianti freshness joined by very nice tannins which still suggest that it will have long life in front of itself while being great today. Long intense finish to pair with the mouth and closeing a great wine.

February 7, 2021 - Fantastic wine - there's a lot of oak showing at this point (shows very nicely and elegantly though as cedar and some light vanilla on the back end), which I'd like to see integrate more with time. It does blow off a bit after several hours in the decanter and after coming up to room temp. The fruit is just beautiful and wonderfully concentrated - dark cherries, plum, licorice. It is medium bodied - 14% alcohol is nicely balanced. It drinks like a young wine - I think it needs a lot more time in the cellar. Acidity is great. Tannins are smooth but strong.
