March 16, 2024 - This is a melange of blue and black fruits , some tar, spices, iron, herbs and a vegetable note. Quite complex for this basic wine. On opening it was not showing much but after 2h open it is marvellous. Tannins are present and and the acidity is really good which tells me this will age very well for another 10 years.
March 3, 2024 - I concur that this is drinking perfectly now. Colour showing some age, tannins well integrated, opened beautifully in the glass. Mulberry, plum, savoury notes of sweet bay leaf and light tobacco. Wish I had another bottle!
February 13, 2024 - Perfect condition and great drinking window! Still fruit to enjoy but well aged.
October 29, 2023 - Aromas of dark berries, cheries and some wood. Sweet fruit on the palate, but also elegant.
July 28, 2023 - No formal note. Excellent now.
February 21, 2023 - Monthly Tuesday group "The Dead Sparrow": Vino Nobili di Montepulciano (@ The factory by JdB): In the bouquet dark and red berries, green herbs, cherries and some smoke. On the palate juicy dark berries, herbs and spices, chocolate, a touch of sweetness, beautiful acidity and round tannin with a good bite.
November 13, 2022 - Chalky notes, dark cherry, tight and structured with generous palate weight.
June 10, 2022 - I was right: excellent with italian charcuterie ! A wine that is really better with prosciutto !
May 17, 2022 - May be in a dull phase, took it a long long time to open up and overall seems much more muted in comparison to when it was only a couple years old. Easy drinker but nothing special.
April 4, 2022 - Dried cherry and strawberry flavors followed by strong dried meat taste (salami like). The key word here is « dry ». Still very good but I would prefer a litlle more juice and soft flavors. Will try next bottles with antipasti of mixed italian charcuterie.
