July 24, 2023 - Wouldn't call it a "fruit bomb" but something adjacent to that. And not in a bad way, just a little one dimensional. Red and black fruit! Still good intensity even at nearly 8 years old.

December 24, 2022 - In a very good place. 2 plus hour decant. A crowd favorite at a Christmas Eve celebration. Definitely picked up on the Grenache notes on the finish.

    September 27, 2019 - 91% Syrah & 9% Grenache (Syrah-Stoney Vine Vineyard | Grenache - River Rock Vineyard).
30% whole cluster fermentation in a mixture of concrete and Stainless steel; Aged twelve months in concrete, seven months in concrete after pressing, allowing Malolactic fermentation to take place in tank; Racked to 42% new French Oak then aged as a blend, in concrete, five months prior to bottling
The bouquet shows a touch less intensity than the Grenache, but nevertheless comes packed with savory tones of olive tapenade and sage brush, garrigue and bramble with scents of pepper, dried violets, ash, river bank, earth and the fruit notes of blueberry, boysenberry and plum.
The palate translate well. Showing concentrated flavors of blueberry, boysenberry and plum that are well integrated with the savory garrigue flavors that include sage, bramble, earth, ash, dried violet, pepper and olive tapenade notes. The tannins are moderate to moderate-plus with a woodsy feel from the whole cluster and balanced by great acidity and a well textured mid-palate. The finish lingers showing off the umami character of the wine with a bit of meatiness.
Still feels young and able to develop a little further over the course of the next decade

November 7, 2018 - This is dark inky purple plum and ruby colored, big, bold and concentrated dense rich ripe black currant and black raspberry fruits accented by layers of olive tapenade, tobacco and pepper.
