April 2, 2024 - I thought this was in a nice spot right now, despite what some other reviewers say. Maybe bottle variation?
Ripe black cherries, spearmint, tobacco, smoke and cedar on the nose. Medium + intensity of aromas, and classically RRV PN to me. About a 50/50 split between primary and secondary aromas. The palate, however, is fruit-driven, showing ripe black cherries, ripe strawberries, cola and brown mushrooms. Flavor wise, it felt quite fresh for 8 years old.
Medium body with medium + acid and medium tannin. While the flavors indeed feel fresh, the structure doesn't point to this lasting much longer. Definitely drink now. -

December 16, 2023 - Similar to previous notes but more so. This wine hasn't aged well. Flat watery taste, with a tart crescendo at the finish. Weak and unbalanced.

June 5, 2022 - Doesn't matter which bottle from which vineyard or which vintage I happen to pull for dinner (in tonight's case, a cedar planked wild sockeye salmon) - these Papapietro Perry's just never fail to please.
