March 12, 2024 - Opened this last night. Had one glass and it was super tight. Tart red cherry. Not very pleasant actually. Stuck the cork in it and put in fridge. Tonight a different wine altogether. This wine has fleshed out , added more depth and brought forward the deeper, darker fruit flavors. Enjoyed with a fine steak which enhanced it even more. Nice surprise after last night. I could be blamed for impatience!

December 25, 2023 - Opened 4 hours beforehand. Medium red. Tart cherry and earth. Medium weight, lean, sleek feel. Cranberry, cherry, soil, brisk acidity, and dry tannins. Very savory Nuits with a lot of bite and even more structure to sort out.

September 17, 2023 - This bottle was not really that pleasant; the nose was nice; fully mature with autumn leaf litter, dried cherry, some mineral and tinge of game. The palate however was overly tannic and tough. It was hard to get anything out of it other drying tannins and the fruit wasn't there. Based on the maturity of the nose, this isn't going to balance out. At least not if this bottle was representative.

Ok I will have to addend this; after a full day and a half of air, I revisited this and it is much better. The nose is fresher with more fruit and its even tending towards red berry fruits, still with some lovely complexity of leaf litter and savory meat; the palate is much better balanced with the fruit at least being competitive with the tannins; still a little bit too tannic for my personal taste, but with the right meal (I'm thinking bouef bourgignon) you may not even notice them nearly as much. So if opening now, give plenty of air and a hearty meal and otherwise it may still cruise in the cellar.

November 3, 2022 - Orange rim and brick red center. Redcurrant, farmyard, chocolate, jasmine tea and spices. Silky and velvet texture. Wine was quite mature for this massive vintage, but still had plenty of tannins, fruits and acidity remaining to continue aging.

We paired it with a 2005 Comte Armand Auxey-Duresses premier cru red. The two bottles were very different in style and development stage, with the Comte Armand much more tannic and youthful. Both outstanding.
