April 8, 2017 - Opera Wine 2017 - 100 Great Producers (Verona, Italy): Showing the warmer aspects of the vintage - on the palate, but not necessarily on the nose. Struggles with freshness; this veers toward the espresso and vanilla characteristics I don't personally favor in Cru Barbaresco. Based on today's sample, I think I'd drink this sooner than later if I was sitting on some, seems to be in a fine spot just now and not sure it's going to get better, just different. This should appeal to a wide audience.

November 1, 2014 - My 92 must be explained with the caveat that it gets the mark more because of how absolutely pleasant and unassuming this wine really is. I had no prior knowledge of this wine other than knowing the producer. It poped and poured and immediately there were aromatics of violets, roses, vanilla, trufles and some cherries with a very slight hint of menthol but very pleasant. It shocked me since I was not expecting allot since there were no CT ers that had commented on this wine. The finish was gently and while somewhat unassuming it lingered nicely. In all I found the wine well balanced, smooth velvety medium mouth fell and simply a delight. I would purchase again. Oh, and the 14.5 ABV was not noticeable.

June 20, 2013 - Drank a bottle at the winery. Dense wine with lots of coffee, oak, chocolate and dark fruit on the nose and palate. I like the oak treatment though others did not. Full in the mouth. Nice medium+ finish.

January 31, 2013 - Very complex and forward nose for such a young wine with tar, leather, flowers along red cherries and judicious oak. Savoury and refined on palate with bright acidity and very aristocratic tannins cutting through a generous but well integrated 15% abv. Firm and young with great ageing potential. A very sophisticated wine.
