May 3, 2019 - Not my favorite Rhône white. For the money I'd expect something like a white crozes but it's much more basic than that. Not sure what it's made from but strikes me as probavly having a lot of grenache blanc which I'm nit generally a fan of and that could explain my take on it.
May 3, 2019 - This wine needs to be not too cold. Initially at fridge temperature (i.e. 6-8 degrees) the impression was not good: harsh, acidic, rough.
But after 30 minutes and at, perhaps, cellar temperature it is more approachable. The nose is a bit closed - a little fruit, a hint of minerality. On the palate it offers a bit more of the fruit, which is pleasant but straightforward.
However, for me there's a little alcohol heat which detracts from the overall balance. (It's 13.5%).
The finish is quite long, but hot.
So overall, OK, but not great QPR at US$14.
